Luke 3:21-22        Jesus Gets Down into the Water

      Jesus, you heard your Father’s voice, “You are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.”  People thought you were Joseph’s boy, apparently just another sinner seeking forgiveness and redemption.  Getting down in the water with John’s other repentant folk.  And your real Father is pleased.  You descended to that “deep cover,” hiding all your glory.

      O God, let me be the father our kids need, a good father and stepfather, like Joseph, faithfully raising your children, and walking beside them, until they celebrate in wonder and amazement, when they hear your voice, “In you I am well pleased.”
