My Bio

IMG_1332 (2).JPG

In the last three decades, I finished 14 years as pastor of a wonderful church in Saranac, Michigan, then served as interim professor of pastoral care at Western Theological Seminary (Holland,MI). Later, I served as an interim pastor for eight churches in four denominations across Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Nebraska. Prior to being pastor in Saranac, I enjoyed seven marvelous years starting and managing the Good News Community, in the Grand Rapids area. We engaged hundreds of single and divorced persons in a ministry that helped all of us grow. That was a great adventure.

Now, with my wife, Mary Ann, I live on a little lake off the beaten path in Michigan. I enjoy the outdoors and also like to write family history stories for our kids and grandkids.

I have come to believe that life is too short for us to avoid honest conversations with God, with others, and with ourselves. Life is too good for us to miss out on the fruit of these genuine encounters. So I hope sharing some of my inner conversations will stimulate you to enjoy your own as well.
