Luke 22:14-16      Jesus, Eager to Celebrate

            Jesus, you said you were eager to share in this meal, this last time to share in the fellowship of Passover with your disciples.  You knew what would happen next, as you would embark upon a marathon of suffering and then death.  It must have been hard for you to celebrate with the disciples when they could not grasp the big picture, God’s purpose in your suffering and death.  They could not see what you saw.

          Praise you, Jesus, for your courage, your love beyond all loves, to embrace these rough and sometimes ignorant, bragging men.  And so you have embraced me and all of us, silly, faulty, selfish human beings.  Thank you!
