Luke 20:1-8    What an Authority

          OK, Jesus, you cleared the temple of the money changers and sellers of pigeons.  What did you expect?  They went after you, those guys in charge of the temple.  I like the way you challenged them with a tricky question about your cousin, John the baptizer.  You seem to be saying to me, “Stan, you don’t need any philosophical or scholarly foundation for believing in me.  Just listen to my words.”  You don’t need anyone else to give you authority.

        Forgive me for my never-ending quest for intellectual foundations for my faith.  Help me to adventure out with you and take chances in obedience when you call me to something I did not expect.  Maybe then, I will have experiences that show you are the real deal.
